Chris Veno
co-founder and Former Co-CEO, Trion
Christopher M. Veno is the co-founder and retired co-CEO of Trion, a national provider of employee benefits consulting, insurance/brokerage, and administration services. From its founding in 1999 to its acquisition by Marsh & McLennan Companies in December 2010, the firm grew to become one of the nation’s largest privately held employee benefits firms. Chris continued to expand the business on the Marsh platform for 10 years following the acquisition, retiring from the business in 2021. He is currently an active investor and entrepreneur in several businesses ranging from real estate to retail and hospitality. Chris is a partner and investor in Conscious Venture Labs, LLC, which invests in startups that create lasting value within communities and focuses on transforming capitalism into a force for good in society. He is also a partner and advisor at Edgewater Group LLC, a multidisciplinary real estate firm that engages in distressed advisory, management, and value-added investment services in secondary and tertiary markets, primarily in the southeastern United States. Chris holds a B.A. from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., where he was a four-year starter on their Division III football team, and an MBA from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has served on the Board of Trustees of The Catholic University of America and on the Board of Visitors of the Busch School of Business at The Catholic University of America. Chris and Meg have five children and live on a centuries-old farm in Malvern, Pennsylvania.
