Dr. David Brown

Board-Certified Adult, Child, and Adolescent Psychiatrist

Dr. David Brown is a psychiatrist who has been in private practice for thirty-five years. He is the founding partner of the Kansas City Psychiatric Group, a large outpatient multidisciplinary group practice located in Overland Park, Kansas. Dr. Brown has served as medical director of three different hospitals in Kansas City. At Research Hospital he managed inpatient, day treatment and intensive outpatient programs as well as emergency psychiatric services for six other area hospital emergency rooms. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Oklahoma. He was awarded the Coburn Scholarship his senior year as best undergraduate pre-med student in the state. After attending medical school at Oklahoma, he did his internship, residency and fellowship at Georgetown University. He is board certified in both Adult as well as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He and his wife Kathy have been married 44 years. They have 3 children and 6 grandkids. He is a sports lover who follows the Chiefs, Royals, Jayhawks, Sooners and all things related to golf.
