Champion Performance in Mental Health

Under the leadership of Chris Casola, Senior Associate AD for Champion Performance, Liberty University has developed one of the premier sports science programs in the NCAA. Chris and his team initiated the Champion Performance Institute at Liberty, addressing the intersection of physical body, neural, mental, and spiritual. They partnered with Royer Neuroscience to provide lab environments for neuro assessments and training, to improve levels of resilience essential in athletic mental strength and performance optimization.

Our recent Athletes OnBalance podcast, with Chris, speaks to the values of integrating measurable mental health care metrics into their Institute to better understand mental and behavioral health levels for injury prevention, recovery, and athletic performance optimization.

It’s a pleasure to work with Chris and his team as they strive to attain all relevant data points connected to health, performance on and off the field, and spiritual well being. It is the pursuit of the Holy Grail: using data intelligence to determine the nexus of mind, body and spirit.

I really enjoyed this discussion with Chris, and I am sure you will as well.

Be well,

Walt Norley
